It is woven for the small babies which are made with three pure cotton new sarees and stitched by the artists with the soft woolen threads. This handwoven work is a part of handicraft varieties. It lasts for many years, almost two generations of usage.
These specially designed hand stitching quilts are directly sourced by the skilled women artists from the Medinipur district of West Bengal who gives their best and survives their day-to-day life by these small handicraft works.
Katha’s are said to be ideal for babies. Various embroidery craft stitching is also practiced in the kathas to make it more decorative and attractive. It is made of medium sizes, 100 cm long and 75 cm wide which fits properly to lie a small baby in that.
